I don't understand what I am doing wrong!! This is so depressing :(

Take a small coffee mug and put in 1/2 cup salt and 1/3 water. stir it up and place it in a large baggie. Put the hygrometer next to it, seal the baggie and wait 12 hours. It should read 75%, but it won't. If it says 70% minus 5% from what it reads in the bator. If it reads 80%, add 5% to the reading in the bator. Mine was 17% off!!!! And once I figured THAT out, they all hatched.

Wow...okay, so 1/2 cup salt and 1/3 cup water...I am going to go do that right now

I think the bator will live for 24 hours without the hygrometer. Thanks!

I bought an inexpensive hygrometer @ tampa humidors because it came with a bag that has a salt package in it to test humidity. I leave the hydrometer in the bag when I don't hatch and keep it regulated. I think it was 15$ for the meter and the bag. I bought the hygrometer @ walmart, it is good for the house and no two are the same.
