I dumb question about egg laying..

I have 4 pullets that are about 4 months old. When will they start laying? Next year or sooner?

Depends on the breed. Out of 4 silkies only one lays. Different breeds mature at different times.

Usually less than half a year. Sometimes way less.

depends on the breed. most start around 20 weeks, on up to 30 +. my brahmas start around 24 weeks. my rir start as early as 18 weeks.

I am new to chickens too but out of my Brahma's and Black Star's, 6 of each, I had three laying
at 16 weeks!! believe that may of been early but of course, each breed and each hen is different
as I am learning! good luck with your younguns!!
