So hello everyone! I've been lurking here for...oh I don't know. Maybe a year? At least six months. Anyway, figured it was time to actually sign up. I'd planned to wait until I actually had something to talk about (probably chickens first but reading these forums has gotten me in love with geese as well so I imagine I'll want of them too) but I guess that plan changed.

I don't have any chickens or anything - I'm in college at the moment I'm moving twice (or more) a year in and out of pet-free dorms so...not exactly the perfect time to get chicks.

I live...well...kinda three places at the moment. My parents are in California, in the San Francisco bay area - I'm there (here?) right now for New Years. In about a week, I'll head back to Australia where I've been studying abroad for the past six months. I'll be there for another six months before coming back (and let me tell you, leaving permanently is going to be really sad - it's an awesome country). Normally, I go to college in Washington state.

Once I finish up college and get somewhere to live, I'll hopefully get some chickens. I think my family's finally realized this isn't just a passing obsession - my mom gave me a chicken book for Christmas which amused me greatly.

Anyway, finishing up my ramble, I just wanted to say hi and to thank you all for posting such great information. It's a pretty addictive site and it's been nice being able to come here and learn and read interesting stories and such. I'll just live vicariously through you all until I can get some chicks of my own.

It's nice to be welcomed so quickly. Though now that I've actually joined it's making me want chickens even more... -sigh- Oh well. Some day!
