When I lived in the Central Valley in CA, I used to get bronchitis 3 times a year and it lasted forever. Since I moved 4 1/2 years ago I have only had it once, and that was after I caught a cold, then the flu right after. It just opened me up to a secondary infection. It went away much easier than it had in CA. My friend's daughter had wretched asthma in the Central Valley as well (she almost died several times), but she moved to a cleaner air environment 3 years ago and has not had an attack since. I don't know what the air is like where you are, but there is a huge link between air pollution and respiratory diseases.
And that goes for the bad air you ingest on purpose
I am so glad you got a diagnosis, at least you know what it is now. Though I know it stinks to have the disease.
Oh Debi, I have watched one of my aunt's struggle with COPD for years now. My advice to you, after watching her struggle, is to put the cigarettes down, NOW. Seriously, she kept smoking for a few years after being diagnosed and got to the point where she couldn't even laugh without going into the most disgusting sounding coughing attack before she finally quit smoking. There is no cure and it isn't a pretty disease. Please stop smoking, you don't want emphysema or lung cancer to be your next diagnosis.
