I finally know who my olive egger is!

This is my olive egger! It’s taken me ages to figure out who is laying the olive coloured eggs lol bug after a few times of her being in the nesting box and then the olive eggs being there we’ve finally confirmed. Anyway, what breeds do you all think she would be to make olive eggs? The blue/green definitely comes from silverudd as the farm has lots of silverudds. They also have a lot of black copper marans. But she doesn’t look like a marans does she???

The woman at the farm thought perhaps Wyandotte so I guess they may have had wyandottes at one point, I also know they had ayam cemani at one point, her husband thought could have some ayam cemani in her. So what do you guys think? They have crele legbars too but no crest on this girl so I’m thinking silver Rudd more likely.

I could see her being a Silverudd/Ayam Cemani cross. The egg color is fairly light olive right? So I don't think it would be from a Marans.

Yes it’s quite light, it doesn’t look that olive in this pic but when put next to my mint green or light blue eggs from my silver rudds and silverudd/crele legbar cross girls it looks more olive. That cross makes sense as the man at the farm who bred them did guess she was crossed with ayam cemani and when I first got chicks from him they were almost all silver rudds. The marans on his farm are kept in a separate barn and were more pure bred as he started breeding them later.

She’s very docile and sweet.

I agree, whatever she is, she's a looker! But if Marans I would expect feathered legs, snd she has none. Beyond that,

Congrats on figuring out who's laying the olive eggs, and on having one INCREDIBLY lovely girl! Those eyes! Those feathers! Beauty, good temperament AND great eggs -- who could ask for more?
