I finally ordered my chicks...

Well I finally did it, I placed my order of chicks today (Ideal)

for a delivery date around August 10th.
I ordered:
Americana's X 2
California White X 2
Buff Orpington X 3
Rhode Island Red X 2

I also tried to order some Cuckoo Maran's but they won't be able to ship those that late. SO.... I'm thinking of adding a couple of Ducks instead of the Maran's.

I'm rather proud of myself, its a small order, but plenty for us, I'm sure there will be eggs a-plenty in a couple of years!

I know how excitiedyou must be about placing yourorder for the chicks, I placed my first order a few days ago and the babies should be getting here the 20th of this month. I already have two chicks that have already moved outside which are a Plmouth white rock and a buff.
i have coming 20 babies all total
5 black Dutch
5 light Brahma bantams
5 Ameraucana
5 mixed breeders choice

so we will have plenty of babies and plenty of eggs for all the friends and family.

As for ducks I have a white pekin and a crested/mallard mix - watch out for baby ducks they poo-poo every where, messy little fluff balls but so cute it is worth it !!

ducks are messy, but SO much fun to watch! I tried putting them in with the chickens, but they get water everywhere!
