Good for you and good for him for applying that rule. I know it sounds mean but I promise you that you have a needed skill. I hope and pray that you never "need" to use that skill but at least you can and wont be rendered helpless with a dirty weapon. Good job.

Just cleaned my 20 shotgun. The smell doesn't bother me or if there is one. Huh I guess I'll have to smell next time. Going to have to clean it again tomorrow after getting home from hunting.

Why is it men think we ladies need a girlie gun? Girlie guns fire real bullets just like the "man models". Besides, my argument is my vacuum cleaner is 20 times bigger/heavier than any gun yet I am able to handle that just fine, don't need anyone to carry it room to room for me. Never had anyone try to sell me a "girlie vacuum:.

My dad has shotguns that haven't been cleaned in 40 years. Just wiped down with an oily cloth every now and again. They are none the worse for it. I've put 12,000 rounds through my skeet gun and have only cleaned it a half dozen times, usually to clean up wad fouling at the choke.

Next time he asks for dinner, tell him that if he can't clean your gun for you, then you cannot cook for him. They're both just as valuable skills, and both are easy enough to learn if need be.
