to give him the largest chances of survival, catch him. with you there are no predators and diseases if you keep him healthy. animals in captivity get way older. he wont have to search for food or dehydrate!

can you easily catch him? is he tame? if he's very wild I would just leave him. where do you live? are there wild chukars in your area? if he's tame and hungry, help him

Well, since this posting, Bandit return once more to my porch for some rest and snacks, then I haven't seen him for a week or more. Guess he's moved on...
