I don't know if this is the best place to post this, but I have been ordering DE from Custom Milling in Georgia. This time I decided to call around (again) and see who carried anything from Custom Milling and found Bartlett Milling in Florence, SC-that can get it for me for way less that I was paying including the shipping.
If this is more convenient for you than where ever you are getting it now, Billy Coleman is who you should speak with. He will be ordering May 5th, and getting the shipment in on the 12th. He charges cost+freight+$2.00. Custom had just gotten in a new shipment themselves and haven't priced it but Mr. Coleman assured me it would be less than $30.00/#50 bag.
Telephone # for Bartlett Milling is (843) 669-6415.
It is little over an hour drive for me, but I am going to order at least 3 #50 bags and go get them.

Chickiepoo-What do you use your DE on to order 3 bags? I bought one bag (50 lbs) back in the spring and i still have 90% of it left.Ionly use it when I change the hay in the coop, and put it on the roosts when i change the hay, DoI need it for something else?

I put it in the horse's feed (helps keep weight on-one in particular that tends to be kinda 'rangy'); the goat's feed (said to increase milk production and`decrease mortality in kids); dog's food; rabbit's food; chicken's feed (mine free range- but I put it in their yogurt or whatever treats); sprinkle it in the trough ( cuts down on the algae); sprinkle in the stalls (cuts odor's and cut's down on flies).
I put it in the feeds also to kill internal parasites. I can't verify it with vet documentation yet, but it is reputed to keep the animals worm-free if using 2% of feed (by weight).
So, I can store that much, and it will save me trips to Florence @ 2 hours round trip to go ahead and stock up. The stuff won't go bad...its fossils. I tease my DH, "If you are packing for a nuclear holocaust, don't forget the DE"
Heck, I take a teaspoonful and mix it in water and take it myself every morning; when I remember.

There are lots of sites to look at but the most comprehensive I have found is
www.wolfcreekranch.net

I have been cutting back on the horses DE for maybe three days cause I am low, and they have been acting hungrier all the time, and getting as much feed and hay, just without the DE. It dawned on me that they are not getting the full nutrition from what they are eating, so I came back inside to get some more of what I have. I'll see how they behave tomorrow.
