I found their nest!!!!!

Okay so like this?! And the pointy end on the egg stays facing down the whole time right? I just prop the opposite side of the carton each time? There were 6 last night and I just went and took them and there were 10 which means I must have 4 females and 2 males! I suspected 3 and 3 but this is great!!!! I’m going to collect tomorrow night then put them in the incubator. I just finished my first chicken hatch yesterday and we got 20/30 and we also have 10, 3 week old chicks and 3 ducks! I have 33 birds in brooders in my garage right now 😂🤣 I’m in bird heaven!!View attachment 2085582View attachment 2085609View attachment 2085611View attachment 2085614View attachment 2085616View attachment 2085618
Love your waterer in the duck brooder❤❤

We are going to put up a trail camera tomorrow. I’m a little surprised because their nest is right on the other side of the fence from my Great Pyrenees. What all animals usually go after the eggs?
For us, raccoons, opossum, bobcats, and black rat snakes raid the guinea nests. The black rat snakes were particularly problematic for us last summer; they raided many nests, day and night, and then moved on to getting into my guinea coop and killed several guineas (see pictures). I think that a bobcat also figured out the guinea nests and he would kind of messily chew open the eggs, then stick around and look for birds to eat.

This is our first time with ducks and it’s take a lot of attempts with different ideas!!!! I think when people say ducks are messy it’s an understatement! I never imaged how fast they grow either! I got them at the same time as my other 10 chicks and I kept feeling like the chicks were growing and the ducks tripled in size every day!

Sound interesting . If you can I would like see what you end up finding on the trail cam...

Got the trail cam set up this evening, also got 3 more eggs in the nest. I only found a couple small pieces of the broken egg but definitely was a guinea egg. Maybe I only have 3 females, I’m still not 100%. I got the incubator cleaned out from the chicken hatch Friday and I’m going to plug it in tomorrow to get ready to put the eggs in! I have 15 and hopefully will get a few more tomorrow.

Forget the dang, it needs to become a dead raccoon. Now that it knows where the nest is, it will continue to come back.
Already got the trapped set with cat food in it! I told my husband I’ll shoot it but he’s gotta do the removal of the dead animal. And I want my dang fake egg back!!!!
