Just wondering if anyone knows.......I gave neo-Chlor to my hens after losing one of my hens to Cocci and noticed after the fact that the package read not to give to laying birds. Anyone know what this means and why? The guy at the feed store told me to give it to them and stupid me never read the instructions. They have been off it for 2 days now and I have been disposing of the eggs that they lay. Also anyone know how long I should throw out the eggs for? The package reads 10 days for meat birds.

I am not familiar with Neo-Chlor but the above website (I found while doing a search) says it contains Neomycin and Tetracycline. Those are not coccidiostats as far as I know.

When I personally try to figure out how long to toss the eggs, I look at when the whole bird would be safe to eat.

Sorry I cannot give a response tailored for those drugs specifically.

Here on BYC the drugs usually recommended for coccidiosis are Sulmet and Corid. You might consider treating with one of those instead of the one you used.
