I get the coop free if....have questions

I have a friend who is getting out of chickens. She only has 2 bantam mutts left and asked if I wanted them. I told her I really have no more room in my tractor but would she consider letting me take the coop with them. So here's me question, I've seen plenty of posts on here about raising bantams with standards from chicks, however none of the birds are chicks. The bantams are 1 yr. and my 5 standards are 1 yr. Will they get along? How much time should I expect the introduce them and what's the best method to do it with older hens.
Second question is if the "deal" goes through, what is the best way to clean a wooden coop?

Standards and bantams can get along just fine! If you do decide to take them, I would keep them separated for a bit, but make it so they can see eachother, Once they get to know eachother through the fence, then I would slowly let them in together but supervised.
I am sure there are thers with really good advice, but when I got my little banty roo last year , thats what I did. They were one big happy family!

Thanks. I have one SLW hen that has been shunned from the other standards I have, and quite frankly I'm really hoping she finds a buddy, but sounds as if bantams can run the roost? Maybe she'll be the first one I introduce to the group. I plan on having the runs next to each other, then slowly add a chicken to the new run/coop at a time, then eventually, hopfefully take the tractor away, and keep it for emergencies. That's the plan at least.

That might actually work out good for her. Maybe they will become little friends!
As for the cleaning, I don't know...Maybe pressure washing? Not really sure. That might be a good question for the coops and runs section, I bet someone there would help with that.

I'd pressure wash, and then apply a coat of good paint to seal the wood if you are concerned.

I think there is some kind of special farm disinfectant you can use too - someone help me out on that one...its too early in the AM for me to remember...

I introduced my little chickens to my big ones by letting them see eachother thru a fence for a few days, then put them all together in a pen with alot of obstacles.
