Think they were mottled java, just not as many spots. Closest thing I have found anyway.

You are probably thinking of a Speckled Sussex. They are a brownish/black color with white splotches.

I got an answer back from the guy who had the birds, and it was a Mottled Java, just nicely colored.

Thanks for the help, it was killing me trying to figure out what it was.
