bfrancis~ Thank you! They are beautiful chicks. I've wanted button quail for years, but never could find them around here.
They are little stinkers to hold on to and so tiny I'm worried I'll squish one.

We won't get into how many pics I had to delete to get one or two good ones. And how often I have to recharge the camera.

It wasn't so much he was fast, as it was there were so many hiding places! LOL! I've been a crafting person for 20 some years. You name it it was in a huge pile in the middle of the room! So...... We started getting some of it put up on the new shelves as we looked for him.

It has to be a boy! A girl just wouldn't be so ornery!

They are feathering out so beautifully! (you did good

) Even the Cotrunix's, which out of the 6 that hatched, I think they are all girls!!!

What can you tell me about the little tux? I'm so curious about the way he's turning out! What is his color considered? I tried google to find similar and didn't.

And is the grayish one a silver?

And little peanut! Isn't it just the sweetest thing you ever saw!!! I can watch it for hours, just amazed at how that tiny angel just shoves through the crowd for what it wants. It's so funny!

The cinnamon still looks cinnamon, sorry to burst the bubble. I can send you silver eggs if you want. The tuxedo is a tuxedo, the normal black back (they are more brown/black back) blue face tuxedo. Peanut, oh peanut! I just have the awwww factor with that one!

Well, I do see a little of the cinnamon in the back area.. but was hoping I was seeing things.

I can't wait to see it finish it's colors. from what I see on your web site, it will kinda be a combo of cinni and grey? It's starting to get the white chin.
I can't get over how fast they feather out and change. I'm loving all the surprises.

Now the tux.. boy he is a handsome fella! And the brown outline really surprised us, in a good way!

So he's a Normal Blue faced.

And peanut.. That's my baby! What a little sweetie!
Last night he was snuggled between 2 of the Cots. It looked so funny!

But moved before I could get a pic.

All the babies are looking beautiful! I'll try and get you a group shot soon. The texas A & M has one large black spot on the back, it's cute!

yeh all my cinnamon babies started out rather grey and silver then slowly they will get red/cinnamon patches on the back before turning all cinnamon strange but yeh it happens.
about a week ago i woke up at 5 am to 3 buttons sitting on top of there cages not supriseing the openings are very large about 2 inch spaceing so i coverd the top with mesh netting but ddint have it attatched yet just lieing over the top well i counted to see where they came from and went back to bed thinking i had everyone. when i woke up at noon i went to feed everyone and noticed my one female from a ifferant cage was missing i have 3 cats who roam my bedroom (aka the basement) i didnt find that little bird untill midnight that night sound asleep behind the couch even thoug i had checked behind and under the couch a dozen times she had been roaming around the full sized basement with 3 cats on the loose for a total of 19 hours by herself! she was unharmed when i caught her and put her back im no stranger to birds escapeing though and know all there little tricks and secret hideouts

My other one that was thought to be cinnamon in the start was decided to be Fawn.

I am amazed a cinnamon starts out so silver though! Gosh these little birds sure are amazing in a lot of ways! Im so glad I finally found them!!

I"m so glad it avoided them! I can't imagine waking to find them on tank tops ! LOL!
Ours got lose when my son tried to get their water dish out. lol..

I have gotten some of the room orgaized. LOL!

I have 3 small dogs and a cat, but the buttons are in a room that they can't get into. And we put a wire door to replace the orig. for air circulation and I can hear and enjoy the birds.

i actually dont worry much about my cats to tell the truth even though they are excellent mousers somehow they just seem to "know" thought i wouldnt trust them 100 percent. my cat ginger i would pile baby buttons all around her my last batch on our couch while she layed there she just gave me this annoyed look but kept still and even went back to sleep with 10 little baby quials snuggling into her tummy.

about 2 years ago i had 2 little white mice who both escaped in teh middle of the night for some reason i woke up sat up in bed and seen my male cat lieing on the edge of my bed when ever one of the little mice would get close to the edge fo the bed he would gently bat at them till they ran back toward the cage i was so exhuasted and mesmerized i just watched him untill the mice started coming toward my feet then put them back into the cage
