Had been along time since I got tattooed. Always try to get images that are relevant to my life not necessarily convoluted images with meanings upon meanings that need mile long explanations.
Person “Is that a chicken tattoo!? Why did you get that!? What does it mean to you!?”

Well..... I do have a blue laced red Wyandotte which is what I used as reference for this piece. Although the blrw I have is of hatchery stock and much lighter in color. I have always really loved the dark charcoal looking blrw so I didn’t use my own as the reference.
though I don't expect many random people you meet to be familiar with chicken breeds. Did you draw it yourself or bring photos to your artist?
Yay!! I’m glad it translates well haha. I sent my artist a few pics of examples of the color and breed. She took it from there. I have no artistic ability In this regard haha.They are a beautiful breed, and for what it's worth, I could tell that's what it was
