I got a free cabinet incubator today!!!

I twisted it all the way up, but it was probably while the incubator was still getting up to temperature. I know the L-shaped thing has been fiddled around with a lot, while I was looking at it, it probably got bumped around on the way home, and one of the guys here was fiddling with it. I bet that's all it needs, its been holding 85F steady all afternoon.

Thanks guys, you're the best!

STOP !! don't replace anything..

all you most likely have is an adjustment issue..

remember righty tighty..?

take the L shaped and go left..
look inside and you should see when the wafer no loner makes contact with the micro switch..
this allow the temperature to rise to it's maximum..

Now go for the dial on your solid state thermostat. left (couterclockwise) should increase
your temperature.. watch your thermometer to verify..

once you get the temperature to 100.5,,,stop..

that is your upper limit.

this is where the L handle comes into play.

turn the L handle clockwise until you hear the tiny click of the micro switch .. OR the temerature drops..you want the temp to stay at 100.4..

when you have that done lower the temp to 99,5 using the knob on the solid state..

Then,If your temp does not get up high enough, it might be the heating coil.....

Yes there are two red lights on the outside, one marked 'power' and one marked 'heater' I think.

Wish I could have said it that well.

Just FYI the solidsate electronic thermostat (Twisty thingy) is such a good thing and someone spent about one hundred fifty dollars on it. The other one is cheap to replace.

I am guessing you only need to adjust as stated above.

good luck

Is there a toggle switch near one of the lights? That toggle switch is probably for your turner trays. Does it have turner trays. The other light if it is set up like a gqf will come on when the heating element is on and go off when the thermostat turns the element off. Toggle switch up will manually turn the racks toggle switch center will turn the turner off and toggle switch down will make the turner operate every hour or so.

sure hope I am not confusing you more than helping.

No you're really helping a bunch. I was about to order a whole load of new parts! It has the Hovabator type turners, with separate power cords run outside. These are before the great clean up..which they did for me!
