First eggs are always so exciting...congrats and enjoy your "hens". Pullet eggs are smaller and I think they are considered hens after they are a year old...I could be mistaken but then why is there a term "pullet eggs" ?

Cockerels and pullets become roosters and hens at a year old. Most do just call them roosters and hens and forget about calling them what they are. The USDA uses the name pullet eggs for the smallest size eggs for sale. It makes some sense since mostly pullets lay them.

I have wooden eggs in 4 out of 6 boxes. My girls free-range all day long, so it was a concern that they would lay elsewhere. They have not limited themselves to one box either.
