I got a puppy for Christmas! Information and opinions needed

there's a good video out there called prisoners of greed, watch it, it'll make you cry, a reputable breeder will never sell to a pet store or puppy broker, i breed and show dachshunds, i sell my puppies on spay/neuter contracts and limited registration, my main goal is to breed for myself first for the perfect dog, i put thousands of dollars into my dogs a year with good nutrition, proper vet care and time, time, lots of time, and of course show expenses, when i sell a puppy it's to an approved home only, i care where these puppies go, i will also take a puppy/dog that i have sold back at any time of it's life to ensure that it never goes to a shelter or a bad situation, if people would educate themselves before they make a major descision like getting a dog, less dogs would be homeless, here's some other things to look for when looking for a good breeder, if a breeder will not show you their breeding animals and where they are kept watch out, look at how many breeds they raise, look at the number of breeding dogs they have, do your research, you shouldn't have to give a good breeder the 3rd degree, they should be giving you the 3rd degree to ensure their animals a happy healthy life, hope this helps, oh and don't let a pretty website fool ya go behind the scenes:/

Hello fellow dachshund lover! I have 3 retired show dogs here. I bred a couple of litters before I decided it was too hard for me to let go of puppies. I literally had nightmares. I can't even imagine selling them to a pet store where I wouldn't be able to know who bought them. Both my girls are spayed now, but I still get out to local shows to watch and I'm still a DCA member.

it's hard to let these pups go but i have turned family members down when they wanted puppies, i also end up selling some at really low prices to excellent homes, you can tell this is a hobby because i haven't made a dime yet LOL, i want to know how people make money on there dogs, well i know how they do it, they feed them trash, keep them in barns and shot them when they are sick, the amish are horrible at doing this, pennsylvania has cracked down on them big time, thanks to oprah getting involved, anyway i have a cover of dachshunds on right now, they're keeoping me warm in this cold weather, anyway nice to meet you, my smooth brindle is showing tomorrow in west friendship md, then we go to new jersey the end of the month, it's hard showing color, judges are stuck on reds, anyway see ya

I got the jack russel/sheltie X jack russel mix. Born november 7 and she is adorable. My older lab seems to ignore her other then the occasional growl. It is not his usual growl though. Thoughts?

She is sable and white

Give her a couple of weeks and they'll probably be good friends. Whenever we've got a new dog our more alpha dogs have been grouchy until the puppy realises they're in charge. The more submissive ones have taken to them right away. We've never had one not fit in though, you just have to give them time and not interfere with the pack dynamic, unless someone is going to get hurt.

What, no pictures???!!??

Give them time, they need to sort out dominance issues.

I was going to post pics but i can't find the cord to connect it to my pc

What size dog are you looking for? Do you have a fenced yard? Acres or a city lot? Do you have alot of time? Some dogs need more time than others. Some expect more exercise, some don't. Do you want one that has tons of energy or a more layed back type? Figure some of these questions out first, then go from there if your not sure what breed or mutt you want. Sometimes people may be in love with a certain breed, but it is not what they want in terms of size, energy, ect...
