mix the poison with peanut butter or with old brown sherri or with a orange believe me it works you will wipe out a whole colony what also works take a bucket with half full of water and throw ligtly sunflower seed on top of the water it will not sank and make something so that the rats can climbed up te bucket. You will find some drowning rats...

I use One Bite bait for the rats here. It is a block and has a hole through the middle so I can tie it to wherever I want it so they have to eat it and cant pull to somewhere the good critters can find it. I lost a beef critter to eating a chunk that got pulled out where he could get it. They cant fill their mouths and go hide it some where. Rats are smart if one eats something and dies the rest of the colony wont touch it. They are not stupid animals.

this may sound really bad but something Grandfather told me they did when they caught a mouse in the born was to burn it alive.. he said the thing would scream.. and all the other rats would run out.. ya it's cruel.. but if it works?

Well the kids found a 'mouse' in the garden. Turns out it was a small rat dying from the poison I put out. I ended up putting it down w/ a bb gun and hubby buried it. It was the first time I killed anything, but it needed done. I don't want to make an animal suffer and that may sounds stupid considering I put out the de-con, but it was avoiding the trap like the plague and I HAD to remove this pest from our coop and property. I hope this is the last of them as I have not seen any fresh poop in the coop for a few days.
