I got a ring neck dove

Don't ask how it happend.
I have a few questions though.
What do I feed him?
What size cage?
Do I need to cover his cage at night?
CAn he live inside?
Is there anything else I need to know?

Commercial pigeon/dove feed mix is suitable, but supplement it with some greens such as lettuce, endive, cabbage, or spinach. His cage should be fairly large; the aviary or loft must provide at least 2.5 m3 for the one bird, but larger if you plan on adding to the cage's inventory. Yes, you should cover the cage at night. He certainly can live inside. And as for extra information you should know; I have none.

Thanks. He is wild caught only becasue this is the second time I have caught him in my rooster's pen. I might let him go when his tail feathers grow back in.

Can you post a picture? If he is a Collard Dove, then he's wild and will be okay on his own (perhaps just visiting you because he knows there's food! I've had to catch Cardinals and get them out of my pens several times because they are too skittish to go back the way they got in). If he is a Ringneck, then he's a lost domestic and could get killed or starve on his own.

If he's an adult, I don't know that he would be happy as an indoor caged bird after being accustomed to freedom.
