I think you should both box them all up and send them to Illinois for me,

they probably won't like all that hot weather you're in for anyway!

Love the goat and egg pic!! Is that in PA?

I am getting to think eggs are like getting rid of zucchini in the summer months. I have offered my extra eggs to every 4H group that I know of in my area. I have offered local BYC members my eggs too. Nobody took me up on my offer for free eggs. I guess I am going to put a big price tag on them and see if that helps give them a home.

Yesterday was a nightmare. We had a big snow storm. We had the power go out for 2 days with 100's of poults, geese, ducks and chicks in the brooder. Was told the power would be back on in two hours all day long. I had 7 hava-bators full of eggs. One in lockdown with poults hatching. One other due Tuesday. I warmed everyone with the fireplace. I even melted two of the incubators by getting them to close to the fire. We finaly found a generator. It looks like we weathered the storm good. I see lots of movement in the eggs. Some even started peeping this morning.

oh thomas so glad you weathered that one!!! what a nightmare!
I'll tell you what, you ever want to send eggs from exhibition quality birds I would love them and be happy to pay for the shipping! I would love to be able to join your exhibition group but just have a mix match of turkeys right now.

I found 7 eggs today. The turkey hens are not brooding. How many do they lay in a clutch and do they start brooding once they have a certain number of eggs?

I just wanted to let you know that my family loves old fashioned fried Turkey eggs. The only difference between the turkey egg and a chicken egg is of course the size and the yolk is a little more creamier (better for dipping toast, etc). We just ate our first turkey eggs a few months ago and everyone in my family likes them more than the chicken egg!!
