So I put in an order through ideal poultry for 8 Swedish ducks. What arrived was 2 blue, 5 black and 1 splash (or so I thought). The "splash" has been growing up acting and looking like a muscovy. She carries herself more horizontal to the ground and her tail feathers and strait out. The others hold their crops a little higher and their tails all stick up at a slight angle. She is not a pekin because of the little black dots on her head and pink bill and feet. She is also very red at the base of her beak. If she is indeed a 'Scovy, I will be even more confused because Ideal does not sell muscovies nor do most online hatcheries. Any ideas from the duck pros out there?

I see what your saying now around top of bill but the bill looks to be to rounded to be Muscovy. I'd call them and ask maybe they are middle man for another hatchery and this little one somehow got slipped in but they maybe able to help identify. There are hatcheries that have Muscovy duckling. Do you mind if it was part Muscovy?

I don't mind at all! Whatever she is, her home will be here! I would like to get her another muscovy buddy if that is what she is though. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Yep it won't be long till you'll know for sure and having another Muscovy that talks her language will help, oh and about her language does she quack like the rest of the ducks? Muscovy's seldom quack unless startled like picking them up when they don't want to be picked up, they make trilling noises.
