What in your bator? Quail eggs to? Its so much fun but I am having a bit of a problem. I tried to take little fluffy into the brooder with his sibling and the pecked him. I never ever hatched quail so I am new to this. What do you do about pecking? I never had this problem with chickens.

They will do that when there's a gap... just put the new one in and watch him, intervene if someone is getting to picky. You can also put the new one in while everyone is sleeping, or distract them by putting food out. They don't seem to notice a new one if fresh food comes with it! LOL!

my first time hatching quail wa mt first time hatching at all. the people gave me 102 eggs thinking only a few would htch. well, 93 ended up hatching so i had a nice operation going. they lay like fools. and they alwas seem to have good hatch rates.

How many eggs did you start with?

I'm starting some of my button's first eggs tonight. My hatching ratio with the ones laying ( they were bought off of eggbid) wasn't to good.

I have read you should grind the feed cuz it is too big for them. I did the first time, are you having to do this?

Hi,

I started off with 34 eggs from Mrs. AK bird brain. 6 so far out of these eggs but I am new to this and my power was out for a few hours. I do crush my feed since the bigger pieces are way to big for them.

I actually start my first incubation process tomorrow (when my eggs arrive)

I received the HB Genesis and 1610 turner on Monday, but unfortunately the turner never made a turn. Thankfully the good people at Home and Barn Basics are taking care of me. I've shipped the defective turner back today and they are shipping out another for me tomorrow. It's quite refreshing to know that they practice excellent business manners. I highly recommend them, and they had the best prices I could find online.

I will be incubating 12-Ameraucana, 18-Black Australorp, and 12-New Hampshire. I'm terribly excited

My hubby has been drawing up a plan for our soon to be chicken coop. Can't wait for babies

. I hope you have a good hatch. Just make sure that temps are 99.5F and humidity is 30-40% from day 1 - day 17 and remember to stop and take out the turner on day 18 and up the humidity to 50-60%. I never used the HB genesis but heard great reviews. I am trying to save up for the rcom 20 pro. Teh I plan to sell my top hatch.
