I got chicks!!!

I had a broody hen so I bought fertilized eggs and put them under her. Day 21 came and went with no chicks. I had read to wait till day 23 then toss the eggs. I went out tonight to throw out the eggs and put golf balls under her and she had 3 chicks under her. So excited!!! How long before you know what sex? And how do you tell?

Sexing depends on the breed, some can easily be 100% sexed by their visual pattern day one, others take months unless you are highly trained at vent sexing, and even then you can be proven wrong as they grow up...

What kind of chicks are they?

I'm not entirely sure, lol. She gave me a grab bag of eggs from about 6 breeds of chickens. Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, Marans, and Silkie are the breeds I remember. I'm 90% sure the one is an EE because of the shape of the black around the eyes. The other 2 are black. I know which eggs were the silkie because they're smaller and the EE and OE because of their colors. When she gets off the nest I will see which ones hatched.

Three chicks I now four chicks. This one is brownish/black. I noticed the tips of the wings on the black ones are white.
