I got first eggs today!

Yes, today I found the first 2 eggs and they were on the floor. Suprisingly they are Cemani eggs, pullets are 21 weeks old. I have also two- three weeks older pullets- brahma, faverolle, araucana and sulmtaler. They dont even look at the nest box.
My teenager son was very conserned: mother we dont eat these eggs, they are first and not edible!

Yes I belive, I just wrote my 13 y. old son ridiculous idea. I put those first eggs to refrigerator and I will make him omlet soon. I´ll not tell him whitch eggs I used.

Congrats on your first eggs. As others have said, you can eat the first eggs, but don't give your son a hard time about it. That seems to be an old wives tale that has floated around for a long time. My guess is it got started because some hens eggs can be small or missformed until the system works out the kinks. Not giving parenting advice, but if your son knows the truth, he can pass it on to whomever he heard it from. He might even get a kick out of being an egg "expert". Otherwise, he could pass the myth along, and it could be embarrassing for him if he gets called on it. Tell him the first eggs are delicious, because they are!

This is so funny. Today third (I have 5 AC pullets) sat at the nest almost 5 hours, no egg from her. I go to the pen every 2 hours and she just cries to me. I have to encourage her. Its funny, because I feel like I am their mother. They always want to fly to my back or sholder. This is true, AC chickens are very friendly to human. But only human. They are very dominant breed and had several problems with them.

My son dosn´t know nothing! In my country teenagers and little a bit older children is called "snowflake generation" They think that everything is possible to learn from computer. Well I am old school mother, my soul belongs always to the land. We were all born in the capital, this is 5. year we live in countryside- no neighbours, no nothing- only meadows and forest. This is real life!
