I got "gifted " a rooster

He is very pretty!

No. A cockerel turns into a rooster at one year.

He appears to be mixed with Brahma, but not full Brahma.

Google Lens is about the least accurate way to identify a chicken. It takes knowledge and a keen eye to identify a breed. Asil do not have black skin (by the way, black skin is fibromelanism), and they are gamefowl that stand very upright, growing to about three feet tall. They do not look anything like your cockerel.
I knew right away he was t Aail. I just wanted somewhere to start. I usually only use Google lens when
I don't have a trusted website with thousands of members that I've been a me.ber for over 10 years. GL has only correctly identified flowers for me 😂 oh and my lizard.

Are you going to move him to a coop or give room for him to run around?

Beautiful boy!
Sorry I didn't reply sooner. He was only om the cage for transport. He spe t 2 nights with me I'm the house to get accli.ated z.d get to know me
After that he went into a huge holding pen so he could meet the rest of my flock safely. I maintain at least 8 to 10 roosters a.d cockerels in my ock .out of the time. Hes acclimating well except for my 5 guineas which I believe I may have to remove. They have become increasingly aggressive with my chickens. I am not amused. 😂 seriously though I'm not. I don't tolerate bullying.

I was "gifted " a 18 wk old cockerel/rooster. I think he's considered a roo at this age. Hes got a deep melodic crow with a decent bass. And the look of him! Deep blood bay. As I said 18 weeks old, stands 20 inches already. Pea comb. The lady, my husband's coworker couldn't keep him. It was one of those "bought 4 chick's, thought they were all pullets, suddenly one started getting real big bigger, and I quote here, he got red thingys on his chin". So here I am 4 am at Walmart to pick up my newest family member. She got them from a friend of a friend who has a farm and nobody is able to tell me what breed he is. I named him Pharaoh becauView attachment 3946080View attachment 3946081se he's so majestic. Would appreciate any breed suggestions. Thank you

He looks similar to my hybrid Black Star (cross between Rhode Island Red and Barred Rock). He, nor the Black Star hens looks anything like either of those breeds. I ordered all pullets as they are sex link I was really surprised when one was a Roo. Here is a picture of him. He used to be darker. He has got more lighter feathers on his neck and back as he has gotten older. The Hens were mostly black with some gold on necks and breast. There are 3 beeide him as well as Barred Rocks immediately behind him.

Hello Wilhelm625, he does look similar to your boy, however the comb is different. I have done some research since I posted this I came across pictures of a black laced Wyandotte. I'm near positive that is what he is. Thank you for your help😃

Also isn't it funny, ironic funny, how many people you can find who have done the same as you. Ordered all pullets only too find "Oops the Rooster" onboard? As a matter of fact that is exactly how I got the Rooster this post was about. Coworker of my husband contacted me to please re-home her Surprise Rooster because their homeowners association doesn't allow them. I got two roosters then because her friend did the same. Their loss, my gain. Big, big roosters, sweet as can be.♥️💜

That's so funny!!! My rooster has a name already (JeanLuc Peckard aka Ricky Rocket) but my next one is certainly getting the name Oops.
