I got in a car accident today (vent).(update post 35)

The fact that my truck is lifted about 9 inches makes it a little harder to back up but i am uses to it and i can do it really well. And i put a back up beeper in my truck too. I have know idea how she didnt see me like she said? I think it was because daddy would have been mad at her(like he is now)

I wasn't criticizing your backing skills. I was just saying I look at a lot of parking lot accidents and I'm always amazed. People that are coming down the aisle should be yielding out of courtesy to the cars that are backing.

Oh i know i was just stating that fact and how amazed that she didnt see me lol I am the only one with a truck and mine is lifted so i have no idea why she decided on that as her reason for hitting me.

So glad this is handled! We live in a town that has a speed limit of 30 through most of it & I find myself OFTEN only doing 20-25, LOL. I know I peeve ppl off, too, because I CREEP. I saw a sign at a restaurant we went to a few months ago. It said "If you're in a hurry, you're in the wrong town!" I love that sign!

People are scared of my truck lol It is pretty loud and i usually have country music pretty loud too. I am not a scary guy though. I am 5 5 with my boots on and weight 120 lol My town is not country at all. My family has been here for a long time though since back when it was country here. So i always look out of place in my chippewas and carhartts oh well

Sounds like she is at fault (which it looks like if you are explaining it...she failed to yield, you were halfway out of the spot and she was speeding, which an insurance company can determine from damage) and she is looking to pin the blame on you and daddy is coming to rescue her guilty butt. Remember, now they only have ONE side of the story...and that is hers...the reality is, there is his side, her side, and the REAL story. In the future, make sure you exchange insurance information.

Will do. My dad gave me the whole speech today. Both my mom and my dad are not mad that i made a mistake they just said to do take insurance info down and call the police etc.

Yikes! That kind of stuff can be so nerve-wracking! I'm glad it's settled. I guess the lesson is to not trust that people will see you or that they will stop for you. Most of the time, you have to drive like everyone around is an idiot, because they likely are.
