I GOT MY FIRST EGG - EVER!

I got my first egg ever this evening! I was so surprised! I check the nest box all the time, but I never really expect to find anything. Well, here it is, in all it's glory.

I've had my girls for one month exactly, if my memory serves me. I'm not sure who laid it, but I suspect either Sally, because she's the oldest and has been red in the face since I got her,

or Precious, because she has been doing the squat for us, starting Feb 1.

Well, whoever laid it, I'm thrilled and I can't wait to find the next one!

It never gets old....

We had to go out most of the day today - and my son got to find 6 eggs in the nest boxes - most ever at one time.

I'm going to eat it! I can't wait to see what it looks like inside, how dark the yolk is, if it's fertile or not, and see how thick and strong the shell is...I'll probably study it at great length before I eat it.

I do feel like the crazy smiley! I was so excited, I ran back to the house for the camera, and took pictures till the girls went to bed. I've called my friends, emailed a documentary slideshow to my parents, taken IT out of the carton and admired it repeatedly.....

I know how you feel. I got my first yesterday and had it with breakfast today. The yolk was orange...not wimpy yellow and it was soooo tasty. Enjoy and congratulations!!
