I got my first egg!

My 5 pullets started at 19-20. The one girl I really wanted to see a 1st egg from, made me wait til dead last.
I swear she did it on purpose...

Hi, huge congrats!!. Ive also just started to get eggs!!. My australorp laid first last week!! Then my buff Orf. And I actually got 3 eggs today. One was in the run. And one of the coop and one in the nesting box. lol lol. The one in the coop and the one in the run look totally different then the eggs I’ve been getting from Ginger and Wednesday. So, now to figure out who is laying in the silly places lol lol!!!!. I’ve got 10 girls all about 22 weeks of age!!. I’m so excited to get my first blue eggs!!!. I look forward to hearing when your other girls start to lay!!!

Yes! That’s how I feel as well, I want to know who laid the eggs lol! Yesterday I had 5 eggs, 4 were in the nesting box, including my first muddy brown one, so I’m assuming my copper marans that I saw in the nesting box. All my other eggs have been green so far from my silver rudds. Then later my son found another muddy brown egg outside in the run! So I’m guessing one of my other two copper marans but I want to know who lol!

My only others who aren’t laying yet are two more silver rudds (so green eggs, even my suspected mixes have been laying green eggs), or I have a mystery girl who is maybe golden laced Wyandotte and ayam cemani. No clue what she’ll lay but she’s been exploring the nesting box a lot lately so maybe I’ll find out soon!

Egg-citing News! Congratulations. It is so exciting when you see your first egg. My ladies have been laying for 3 weeks or so. To me it is like getting a daily present.

Congrats to everybody! I started this year with my first 3 chickens (black australorps) and Penelope (left, purple leg band) just laid her very first egg for me yesterday! Weighed in at 29 grams.
She's currently in the coop working on egg #2 because why not wait until it's 500 bloody degrees out to lay
Like everyone else I resigned myself to not getting eggs from them for a while. They're 18 1/2 weeks now. I'm pretty sure I'll he waiting on the other two for a while but I at least have one that's no longer a freeloader now!
