Hi, huge congrats!!. Ive also just started to get eggs!!. My australorp laid first last week!! Then my buff Orf. And I actually got 3 eggs today. One was in the run. And one of the coop and one in the nesting box. lol lol. The one in the coop and the one in the run look totally different then the eggs I’ve been getting from Ginger and Wednesday. So, now to figure out who is laying in the silly places lol lol!!!!. I’ve got 10 girls all about 22 weeks of age!!. I’m so excited to get my first blue eggs!!!. I look forward to hearing when your other girls start to lay!!!Today I got my first egg. For the past 5ish days, my 18 week old Sapphire Gem, Stormy, has been crouching and stomping every time I bent down near her. After some research, I waited in anticipation of eggs, hoping I would be here to witness it before leaving on a trip this weekend. Well, the waiting paid off and Stormy (at least I think it was her) laid her first egg today. This is my first ever flock I've raised from chicks and it's my first ever first egg. Funnily enough, instead of sitting in her nesting box to lay it, she laid it on top of the nesting box. I'm glad I started feeding her some oyster shells after noticing the stomping because the egg feels like it has a very nice, solid shell. I'm so proud of her and I can't wait for her sisters to start laying! Anyways, here is Stormy and her first egg!

You are so right !! I haven't had mine as long, only 4 years but I still get giddy when I see those first eggs. This is the best hobby, and this will be joy for years to come. I have had them for decades and still love to go down to the coop to see, did I get any eggs?
My 5 pullets started at 19-20. The one girl I really wanted to see a 1st egg from, made me wait til dead last.I'm already getting close to a dozen a day from my flock, but I'm eagerly waiting for my 16-week old pullets to start their egg-laying days. Any day now, girls ..... aaaany day now ..... lol.
