Can anyone tell me what the other is?

Congratulations! Looks like an Easter Egger

Sometimes the hatcheries call them Araucanas or Ameraucanas, but they're technically Easter Eggers. Did you get sexed pullets?

I'm really excited - and my daughter is in love with the EE - go figure

question - I have one that is sleeping seperate than the other 5
and every once in a while they come over and peck her
should I be worried?
She does get up and move around - but she defiantely stays seperate for some reason.

I had one RIR that did the same thing for about 3 wks. She slept a lot directly under the heat lamp. The nine other assorted chicks would be running around eating and drinking and would occasionally run over the top of her. She'd get up and go lay down in another spot.

She was much smaller than the rest but still ate and drank, just not as much.

I expected to find her dead one day but then she stopped sleeping and ate more and by 5 1/2 wks old, I couldn't tell the difference between her and the other RIR. Today, at 30 wks old, I can't tell the two apart.

Just let your little one sleep and do her thing. I would use a red light and make sure you have plenty of things for your other chicks to do in the brooder to keep them busy so they won't be inclined to pick on Sleepy. I used to call mine 'Little Red'.

Good luck with your little one.

At 1 wk, you can see how much smaller she was (on left)

Everybody is calling it an Easter Egger. IS that the same thing as an Ameraucana? It looks just like my Ameraucana chicks. Are EE's a different breed or is that a knickname?
