I got run over this morning!

By a hummingbird!

Took the puppy out this morning, still in a daze cuz the coffee wasn't ready yet and bam!
A couple of hummers were flying between the feeders, fighting over them of course. One slammed into my shoulder, did a few flips then righted himself (herself?) and flew up to a wire for a time out.

Dangerous things those hummers.

You thing - I can picture the scene. Hummingbirds are fierce little things - kinda like a toy poodle against an Akita.

a couple of weeks ago I was watering some garden plants with just a fine spray, and a hummingbird flew into the spray and stayed there for a couple of minutes.. when I moved the spray, it followed..

LOL I get that at least once a week...when their feeder is low. One particular one buzzes up really fast to my face and dances in front of me threatening...he/she waits for me to get the feeder, refill it and replace it. Following me the entire time. It even waits outside the door for me to come back out with it.

We went camping in Colorado and we were all outside the camper enjoing some watermellon and my dad was in midbite and opens his eyes to a hummingbird in front of his face checking out the watermellon I think its because its sweet and the bright color?

They are one of the most dangerous birds around these parts, too. Those sharp, pointed beaks, I mean really look out!!
