I got tired of poopy water

It got to the point that 2 minutes after I changed the girl's water one of them would poop in it, and that got tiring! So, this evening I went out to my shop and made a poop-proof waterer. I had bought the nipples from TSC before I even had chicks, so I thought it was time to put them to use.
THere are two nipples, but I turned the base against the wall so that they would stop making it a tunnel and stop to figure out how to use it. Probably tomorrow I'll turn it so they can access both nipples.

That is pretty cool. Yes poop and bedding in the water is a constant battle and the bane of my existence for the first few weeks. I even tried using a hamster ball that attaches to the side of the crate but then they would just sit on it and still poop in the water. I almost think they make it a goal. Let us know how it works

well, it didn't. I discovered yesterday afternoon when we got home that they hadn't reduced the water level at all. I had seen all of them peeking at the nipple initially do I was very surprised. I put the old waterer back and they flocked on it and drank like there was no tomorrow. I tested the nipples and found that no water came out. I'm going to try making an air intake hole and see if that chutes the problem.
