Thank you very much for all of the replies. Upon further thinking, I think the guineas are the culprits. We only have two guineas left. They are the remainders from a large number over the last two years. I do not want any more of those birds! My poor lonely rooster is waiting for more companions! I have 8 of his babies in the brooder now. They are 3.5 weeks old. I won't let them multiply from there, but at least he will have companions! I have a home lined out for the guineas. That problem is solved! The dog yard is rather large. Netting isn't a viable option. I will see if I can modify the perimeter of the yard to have the netting sloped outwards to try and prevent the birds from going towards there in the first place!
Thanks again for the ideas....my poor Tony....he is so lonley! 18 eggs in the bator due in 16 days! Maybe he will have a girlfriend in there!
