I was hoping my EE hen would get broody and sit on her eggs. I have about 20 in there and still no luck. My question is should I toss them out or are they still edible? The temps here have been between 40-60 for the highs. We haven't collected in about 2 weeks. Also, my hen las 2-3 eggs a day, is that normal?

You can check the eggs freshness by putting them in water. If they float they either should be ate right away or tossed. If they sink they still have awhile yet.as for laying three eggs a day no that's very unusual as it takes about 24 hours for the body to make one egg. So I'd say that's unusual. Mine lay a egg a day. Then skip sunday. They start early Monday morning then get later and later till sat they lay early evening then skip sunday then start all over again.

So, is that something I should worry about? I bought her about 4 months ago and she has always laid 2-3 eggs a day. I thought maybe since she was an EE it was normal for them. I have only had my chickens for about 1 year. Still kind of new to all of this.

No that happens with my hens all the time just make shure they are not fertilized and you will be fine.
