I was amazed this morning with my big egg. I incubated other large eggs before and only got one chick out of it, but this one had two chicks in it. One is smaller that the other but they are both doing fine. Has anyone else ever hatched double chicks out of one egg?
Also what was interesting was they peeped out of different ends of the egg.
I just thought it was interesting and very cool.

I just have a weird looking shell with the ends out. They hatched over night and I found them this morning in the incubator. One shell and two chicks. They are small and in the brooder, with a rice heat pad underthem as well as the above light heating. I will take some photos of them as soon as my batteries charge up. I will take a pic of the egg shell as well.
I have another very large egg in there at the moment, but I don't think I will be lucky like this again. This egg was extremely big, about the size of half a chicken egg. It weighed 43gms when I collected it. When I weighed it the other day it weighed 39.5gms. I saw vein work in it when I candled it at 5 days and we were all sure it was double yolked.
Its so exciting to have little miracles happen. These guys are keepers. I wont be selling them, no way.

Sad to report one died.

I have been at this a while, I have seen and incubated double yolker eggs before with little to no sucess, but to have 1 actually produce 2 viable chicks that hatch is really amazing! I am sorry you lost 1, but wow its really neat that they even developed, let alone hatched! Pretty cool all in all....
