I hate coons, UPDATE #52 got'em!

I usually buy the moist catfood at kmart for like .51$ ........ The outdoor cats only get a handful of dry food, and they hardly are ever caught in the traps. I think they know by now that the food in the trap isn't intended for them

I used cat food too, but made sure to give plenty to my cats that evening, I did manage to catch a cat one of the nights but it now knows better than to go into the cage.

gonna set tomorrow, I spent the day moving my white silkie pen next to my patio so I could enjoy them more lol

I buy the cheapest sardines I can find- the ones in oil. A half of a sardine is all it takes. Dribble some of the oil around the cage. Keep the rest in a Tupper Ware container in the fridge. You will be surprised how much mileage you can get from 1 can.


If you have leary coons (they are usually pretty easy to catch), try putting some pine straw or leaves on the bottom of the trap to mask the wire beneath their feet. They can get trap shy quick if you miss them, but the "soft bottom" hides the wire feel.
