I hate dieting!

10 lbs is much more than I can say for myself!! I took meds a few months ago that really made me want to eat, and I gained like 15 lbs. Now it is hard to get rid of it. It's not like when I was I was a teen and I could lose 2 lbs. a week.

I'm going to be an enabler and say, eat what you want in small portions. Just moderate it and it shouldn't hurt.

Dieting makes you want to eat everything that is bad for you. Try NOT dieting. Try focusing on the healthy foods you ENJOY!!! For me, I love yogurt, green beans, broccoli, chicken. I do not love most veggies and I do love fruit. I have taken to eating a large lunch and no dinner. 3 years, and some months, 60 lbs is gone. Change the way you think about food. Or try to anyways. I am almost 50 andit took me a long time to come to realize the diets do not work. Not unless you can incorporate that way of eating into your life forever. And mosst diets do not allow that.

My day: Yogurt and fruit with coffee (with cream, yes), lunch - (sample) chicken balsamic salad at Oggi's with a garlic twist and pomegranite lemonade. Dinner: Nothing unless I am really feeling hungry. Not wanting to eat, FEELING hungry.

By the way that salad at OGGI's is HUGE!!!! I love that place!

I mostly just stick to moderation on my portions but I also try to avoid fried foods and eat more veggies. I am trying so hard!

I'm dieting, too.

After this last baby, I need to lose about 30lbs to get back to a healthy weight for my height, but I wasn't very motivated to get started. My sister recently announced her engagement and asked me to be her Maid of Honor, so I'd really like to get this weight off before her wedding in September.

The only thing that works for me is counting calories. I downloaded a free app for my ipod that does all the calculations for me. I told it I wanted to lose about 2 lbs a week and it told me how many calories I should eat. I've been on it 2 weeks and I've lost 5 lbs, so it's working!

Diets don't work. Eat all the foods you like just be smart about what you are eating. My husband and I eat what we want, but we just don't eat tons of it. I eat 6 times a day, good meals and yummy snacks and I also go to the gym and do about an hour of cardio every day 5 days a week. I've lost 14lbs and down a size in under 2 months. We have pepperoni pizza and hot wings once a week. Basically it comes down to watching your caloric intake vs what you burn during the day. Definitely go to the calorie counter websites and put in your info to see how many you should have per day like Southernbelle advised.

If you just watch your calories, you can have all the food you like and want and never feel deprived. A basic day for me is: A bowl of cereal with 2% milk at 7, around 10 a snack (either kraft sticks and cheese or special K bar) at lunch time I have either a sandwich or leftovers from the night before, later after noon another snack, 6 ish dinner (tonight we had bacon cheeseburgers and mac and cheese) in the evening I have a frozen fruit popsicle or a fudge bar. I have a full day of food and eat what I want to eat. Now I don't do fast food a lot and when I do I will only get the burger, no fries. I've tried diet after diet from Weight Watchers to Atkins, none of them worked for me. This is the only thing that works for me.
