we use a solar powered fence charger with the white tape(electric fencing tape) around our perimeter.......It does protect our livestock from intruders. One zap is all it takes!! All your neighbor's dogs will QUICKLY learn the tick tick tick sound coming from the charger. I do think it is terrible that WE have to train OUR neighbor's dogs. BUT it is more humane than a gun. I smile evertime I hear a yelp from the electric fence. BTW, you can even run the tape through your flower bed--urine and electricity don't really mix well.

Your chicken will most likely be ok and the neighboors if you speak to them should seriously see about keeping them in their yard. Most dogs can be trained to do so.

But I understand how you feel despite that I have two dogs. A friend of mine's neighboors have now eaten two of her puppies. literraly and seriously.

I finally trained my neighbors dog to stay away from my property...it wasn't pleasant...but it worked. I havew my dog contained in a wireless invisible fencing system, she WON"T cross that line. The zap is SO STRONG that it pretty near kills them, seriously. They get ill for a whole day or two if they cross the line.
My neighbors dog comes here, kills and eats my chickens, takes treats away from my dog and eats them right in front of her on the other side of the safe zone. I finally got FED UP!

A week ago I put my dogs collar on the neighbors dog when she was here and turned it on HIGH! That dog crossed the line to go up to my coops and she did the funky chicken and screeched all the way home. The collar zaps continuously for a full 30 seconds when you cross the line, if you don't come back inside the safe zone. That dog got it GOOD...and she hasn't come anywhere near here ever since!
She will get it again if shje ever comes back, and I don't care if it kills her

Im sorry about the neighbors dog. Heck, its bad enough when its our own mutts. I DO like the dead squirrel trick, though.

The dead skunk thing is the smartest idea I have heard of in a LONG time. It's pure genius. Doesn't harm the dog (physically), gets the point across to the idiot neighbor, and gives you a chuckle all at the same time. Brilliant.

I'm not sure that dogs will roll in dead skunks...although they will roll in dead OTHER things...my dog does it all the time
