Like most bators, it takes some time to get to know them. Before you ever put an egg in one, you need to learn all its little quirks. Start out by turning it on and leave it for 2 days just as it came out of the box using the set up instrutions. DO NOT LOOK AT IT OR TOUCH IT. Put some bags of sand in it for bulk (heat control). When you do check it, make only small adjustments and wait hours before touching it again. Once you get it set at the correct temp and humidity and only then do you put your eggs in. So many people think you can buy a bator, plug it in and it is ready for their eggs. They get mad and the chicks die. LEARN YOUR MACHINE. I see this every day with people cursing LGs every day. I use LGs with great success all the time. A bator is not something you plug in and it works, it needs to be adjusted. Everytime you clean it, it will need to be readjusted. If you read some of the past posts, you will find where some here have hatched chicks in everything an electric fry pan to their bra.
