I hate my turkey!

Maybe that is why you hear of buying a 'trio' of turkeys, ducks etc. They are social birds and need their own kind to be with or they hound you. JMO

I am sorry your turkey is flogging and mean. I have a Tom turkey and he is the friendliest thing ever was. He will sit at my back door, wishing to come in the kitchen and visit. He follows us around the yard everywhere. It is cute. He "talks" to us and struts. He tolerates hugs, but does not like to be picked up. His chest is also featherless, but that is a rogue Muscovey male duck who keeps Tom in line by plucking his chest bald. I never would have guessed that I would like a turkey so much, he has much more personality than any chicken I have had and looks at us with a curious eye. I guess your guy will the the most expensive Sunday dinner you've had in a while, but don't give up on having another turkey. If raised with kindness, I think they are mostly friendly and easy to get along with. Honestly though, with a small DD, I'd roast him up sooner than later. It's not worth the risk, plus, she'll hate turkeys her whole life! Bon Apetite. HenZ
