I Hate to Say It, But,

I want to report that for at least the past month Rameses has been 100% back to his old self.

Including being the world's most laid-back rooster when it comes to cockerels.

The other day I had an escape from Camp Cockerel -- the black cockerel, Sethos, and the little hen White Ears. White Ears got into the main pen when I was trying to corner her against the netting (she's a good flyer), and I couldn't catch Sethos so I figured I'd get him after dark from wherever he ended up roosting.

I don't see Sethos right off and decide to retrieve White Ears and close up Neuchickenstein before I start hunting in odd corners. Guess where I found Sethos?

Not a mark on him, either. Rameses hadn't objected to having a son he hadn't seen (heard, but not seen) for 6 weeks back home.

Today, Rameses II and Seti were sparring. Rameses let it go as long as he felt was appropriate then broke it up. He didn't fight either of them -- just got in between and administered a few disciplinary pecks.

I have decided.

Within the next few weeks I am going to put Rameses up for sale as a proven flockmaster but with full disclosure of the incident that prompted this thread, a link to this thread in the ad, and the recommendation that he not be someone's first rooster.

He's been very well behaved for the past two months and I can turn my back on him freely again.

I think he should have the term “proven flockmaster” on his tinder profile. He’ll get all the babes.

With the disclosure I'd have no trouble with such a rooster. So far none have got the better of me. My wife even got the best of one that took only one lesson. She was putting out feed many years ago and we had a little red banty roo that was gearing up to jump on her and with one smooth move he caught a metal coffee can full off feed broadside. He new to never ever do that again. He wasn't big enough for soup.

Aww 3B, I hope all turns out well for you and Rameses (cool name, btw).

Our dark brahma cockarel's name is Samson :D .

VERY very best to you in that, and my continued respect in your choice of full disclosure

Agreed. Many people are dishonest, or simply would rather not provide that information in hopes to sell or get rid of them faster.

I'd have to answer to God and my conscience if I didn't disclose this and Rameses ended up hurting someone. :(

I'm putting Rameses II, a bunch of cockerels, 2 young pullets I don't want, and a *maybe* youngster up on Craigslist tonight or tomorrow.

I'll put Rameses up in his own ad after I set one more batch of eggs at the end of the month.
