I do not own peafowl. I haven't ever, I do have second (third?) hand experience from my friend who had them. She had gotten a pair for their 4 acre home, after acclimating them for a few months to their very large coop and run when they let them out to free range the female ran away and never came back. The male never returned to the coop or run but did stay on and near the property (neighbor didn't like it though) I'm not sure if it was something on her part as she wasn't the best animal owner but I have heard they can be flighty. Peafowl are Really Loud, make sure your neighbors are okay with the noise, some of the calls kinda sound like screams. She had also told me the reason she got adults was that peachicks can have a high morality rate but take that with a grain of salt cause, again I have never had them :'( I have met a few other peafowl besides hers, and I'll just say be ready for the noise! Good luck! : D
