I have 3 brooders and I'm getting baby chicks...

I think I'm going to just put 2 or 3 under each one and raise the rest in the brooder. I want them to raise some chicks. I'm getting some 2 or 3 different breeds that were replacement, but I ended up getting the same breed from local stores, so I'm just going to try that. I really wish somebody who allows their chicken to raise chicks the old fashion way had some advice. I know back in the day, they didn't do so much extra stuff for their chickens. I've actually had older people who don't have chickens but grew up with them wonder why I feed chicken food and things like grit and oyster shells. I would say they also didn't separate brooders from the rest of the flock either. I'm going to keep my more expensive breeds that I bought in the brooder though.
