I am doing my first ever hatching. I bought 12 welsummer eggs. yesterday was day 21 for them. 1 hatched late in the afternoon which is the chipmunk looking kind. pretty sure a roo..barely any colors on its head...but the one that hatched this morning is looking black to me..with a white chest and barely any white on the tips of its wings and it has gray/black legs. I did look at images of welsummer chicks on line and there are some that are black little guys..if it is a welsummer...how do you sex it then..and what strand would it be...I will try and see if i can post a picture of it in a while..still waiting to see if any more decide to come out to play.
