I HAVE A BROODY HEN!! Yay

Yay I'm so excited. We put 7 EE eggs under her... She is happily setting on them. I have water and food close to her. She is one of my black astralorps. 'Kona' the eggs are due September 13th. I will add some pics soon!
So who else has had a BA broody?

Congratulations!

I thought my BA was broody a couple weeks ago. She decided to sleep in the far nest box away from everyone else one night, but it was just a false alarm

yours might still go broody maybe. Kona was just taking forever to lay her eggs about 10 days ago... But she would still go out in the yard with the others. Then I noticed that she had pulled all her feathers out of her chest area... And then about 3 days ago she flat refused to get off the nest. She is so cute all puffed up in there.

I have a feeling she won't. This was a couple weeks ago, but i'm still hoping she will

My girl is almost two years old and she's never been broody before.

Oh I hope she does go broody for you. They are so much fun to watch. My sister has had quite a few broodys. Kona is just over 6 months old...

The only birds I've had brood are my Silkies... but they don't seem like "normal" birds sometimes
