i have a confession to make

Go chickens GO!! LOL

My chickies won't attack the dogs but you should see them send the cats a runnin'!!! LOL Throw some scraps on the ground and the cats let the chickens eat first

Is ok.. My pit bull is afraid of my guineas now. She makes a wide turn around them .. they charged her a few times and now she wont even look at them.
But she still tries to sneak in a few mouthfulfs of their grower feed here and there .She loves that stuff..

But then again.. she is afraid of my one male cat. If you ever seen Jeff Dunham you might be familiar with Walter.. one of his puppets.. Well.. that cat is like Walter.. and he doesnt care if he lets you know that.
The dog is so afraid of that cat.. he walks in the room, she hauls off into another room. That cat is grumpy and mean.

spoke too soon

my other boxer (who is usually a big baby) saw the silkies yesterday and got curious and started following them around yesterday ... the bigger silkie made a run for it and jojo chased her down --- mouthed her a little bit but didn't bite down

i've since taught her the error of her ways ... hopefully it doesn't happen again

the silkie (captain picard) is fine ... no bite marks, missing feathers or anything else

My big boy Bill used to be chased by a east indie duckling we had. He tried to sniff it one time and it bit his nose and that was it. It turned into the DUCKLING OF DEATH and would chase him around the yard. Pitiful.

My rehabbed Jack Russell mix ran after my 5 ISA Browns one day because they managed to get out of the run. I didn't panic, even though I knew at least 1 would be caught. That's what JRs do, it's built into them and hard to break.
Or so I thought!
The next scene was 5 fluffy orange featherballs surrounding a terrified little dog. When she got free of them she ran up the steps, into the house and under my bed where she stayed for nearly 2 hours.
Since then she "played" with them a bit, i.e. ran after them until they turned on her, then ran away. But now she doesn't even do that.

When John the duck starts having his way with a chicken, Poppy runs at him and he stops that behaviour. Then he and Poppy have a back and forth chase. She barks and chases him, then he turns and chases her. Sooner or later they just stop and go on with their lives.

Flash forward to my 3 ducklings who held her attention from first pip to almost full grown. Once they got big enough to run around the yard I leashed her and let her follow them but if she got too close I pulled her back and said NO. I knew I couldn't trust her though, because of the holes she tried to dig under their pen.
Eventually I let her loose with them in the yard and she looked more like a Border Collie than a JR, following them around but not biting them. Last week she simply stopped bothering them completely!

My buckeyes are being raised in the garage waiting waiting waiting for their coop to be built. They finally got turned out into the backyard and love it except our Dobe keeps herding them back into their pen ! When they finally wear her down they all rest in a pile on the hill! It does give the neighbors pause!

Leo, my Lhasa Apso, is very good with the chickens. He was a little iffy with the duck at first, but it's OK now. Once when he was being babysat by a friend, my friend's daschund decided to chase one of her guineas. Leo joined in the fun. The guinea jumped on Leo and rode him all over the yard like a rodeo cowboy. He now has an awesome respect for guineas and won't bother them either.

My 4 yo daughter let our dobe out one day while the ladies were free-ranging in the front yard. I was terrified that she's kill one.
Well, she sure gave them a run for their money... she herded them all around the yard, yelling & squawking. They all hid, but she never went for any specific bird, she just tried to 'round them up."

My uncle broughtn his vicious jack russle round and it went for one of my hens, my two ( now re homed) Light sussex cocks, chased it , managed to give it a few scraps and make it run indoors and it never even wants to leave the car when he comes round now.
