I have a couple hens that are 1 year old now, they have been laying for a while, but lately both will go into the nest box stay for quite a while come out and no egg. Is this something I should be worried about or is this normal behavior? I have felt both and doesn't feel as though theres an egg stuck. They are not in molt either.

Quote:That's normal. Mine do that too. I would only be concerned when hens who lay regularly are no longer doing so and begin to exhibit other odd behaviors (like listlessness, etc.) in which case, eggbinding would be a concern. If they're still laying eggs I wouldn't worry about it.
