Last year i bought 10 silkie chicks... 5 white and 5 black... as they grew i noticed the white ones were getting HUGE i started thinking to my self.. well thats not what i want... so, i sold all of them except one, my favorite of the bunch, hoping that some day she will go broody..
also i am aware that she may be a mix...
Then one day i show a pic of her to my fellow chicken friend... she said that she looked like a standard silkie!! omg i freaked, and i thought i just had a freak of nature... im taking a chance i ordered 20 more white chicks from the same person as did my friend . so we have 40 chicks coming on tuesday! all white silkies since the black ones seemed to be avareage size.
if things work out and we get larger than normal silkies....
how do we make new colors? i have a nice Buff silkie roo and a nice black silkie roo, but they are normal size.. around 2-3 lbs and the HUGE silkie hen that i have is closer to 10 lbs i think. we will have to AI right??
my friend has partridge silkies..
how do we make these colors
Blue
Black
Blue splash
Buff
Partridge??
also, i need all the info i can find on standard silkies!! any help is appreciated
