I have a mystery rescue hen

Has she laid eggs while you've had her, or is that just what the previous owner told you? If I'm not mistaken hens don't generally lay while going through a molt, which it looks like she is.

I got her from a production farm. She hasn’t laid since I got her very flighty.

She still hasn’t laid but we’ve had severe weather and maybe she is molting? She’s a mystery for sure.

No. Not yet. And she likes to hide but no blue eggs yet.

I've learned from reading other threads that a change in routine/location can also cause chickens to not lay for while until they feel safe/secure enough to start nesting... give her time and some TLC, she'll come around.

I definitely don’t think she’s an ameraucana because she does not have a beard or a pea comb.
Probably an Easter egger mix.

I bought this hen from a chicken farm. She lays blue eggs and appears to have lavender feathers and a big floppy comb.

She looks much happier than when you first got her. If she hasn’t laid yet, I bet there are eggs in your near future

I just wanted to say that i'm really impressed in the before and after pictures. Good job taking such good care of her. Turns out she's a beautiful hen!
